What we always say is that Stetson hats are water repellant. We recommend to not get your hat wet. But that does not mean the hats won't get damaged if it gets wet. Light drizzle will most likely not harm Stetson hats, (wool crushable, beaver blend hats (3x,4x, 6x, 10x, and above.), but some tough rain will most likely will change the shape of the hat to where you will have to take it to a hatter to re-steam the hat to its shape. Straw hats are the only exception.
How much beaver, wool, felt blend do the hats have?
All crushable hats are made of 100% wool. 3x and 4x hats are made of wool also. Now going 5x and above, they will have some mixture of wool and beaver. 10x,30x,50x,100x and above will have more of a blend with beaver, rabbit and other fur felt blends. This is where the quality takes another step. The feel and touch of these hats are very soft and smooth.
